Need a fun kids recipe?!

Question:

Need a fun kids recipe?

Any good cool/fun kid recipes? This is for about 8 kids ages (4-10). We always have BBQ with neighbors on Sundays and I need a new "different" recipe for the kids????

Answers:
make a cake as directed. take ice cream cones{ the kind with the flat bottoms} Fill 2/3 way full with batter and bake as directed. Let cool then ice to make them look like cones.

Cut melons into thin slices then take cookie cutters and cut shapes out of the melons serve on platter or you can make a fruit punch by mixing Hawaiian Punch and Sprite then float the melons in it.

Go on the website familyfun.com They have tons of kid friendly recipies on there! I use their website frequently and have not been disapointed yet! Also, Kraftfoods.com has some really good ones for kids!

if you're looking for something they can help make, you could let them build their own sundaes with lots of different toppings, or make (or buy) cupcakes with plain white icing and let them decorate with colored sprinkles, mini choc. chips, little candies, etc. this lets them feel like they are "cooking" without destroying your kitchen! : )

if you're just looking for kid-friendly foods, try foodnetwork.com - they have tons of ideas!

sounds like fun either way - good luck!

Frozen bananas dipped in chocolate. Can use also toppings like nuts, color dots, shaved chocolate, cookie crumbs. Since the bananas are frozen the chocolate hardens right on the banana...Freeze bananas on a stick , a day ahead, once frozen, save in bags. Melt the chocolate and keep warm over the fire. Make trays for the toppings so the kids dip the covered bananas on topping. Do not let the bananas thaw.

Here's a recipe my mom used with us when we were little (there were 5 of us). You'll have to heat the oven up, but only for a short time.

Ice Cream Muffins
Yield: 6 muffins

1 cup self-rising flour (see note)
1 to 1 ? cups melted ice cream, any flavor

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place flour into a medium bowl. Stir in enough of the melted ice cream to make a thick batter. If the ice cream has chocolate chips or nuts, make sure they get mixed in, too. You can also add nuts, candy, or fruit to the mix.

Lightly grease a six cup muffin tin. Divide batter among muffin cups. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. The tops of the muffins may not brown very much, but the tops should spring back when lightly pressed.

Let muffins cool to lukewarm, then eat immediately. Feel free to dunk pieces of the muffin in the remaining melted ice cream.

Note: if you don’t have self-rising flour in hand, you can substitute 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1? teaspoons of baking powder, and ? teaspoon of salt.
