CHOCOLATE covered pretzels???!

Question:

CHOCOLATE covered pretzels???

i love making my own chocolate covered pretzels. i heat up chocolate chips and put the chocolate over pretzels. i freeze them. but they melt really quickly. is there anything i can put in the chocolate that will keep it fromm melting so fast after i take them out of the fridge?

Answers:
Try using the almond bark it stays harder longer the chips do.

CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS

1 bag of pretzel rods
3 to 4 squares of Borden's almond bark

Melt chocolate in dry, narrow but deep, microwave-safe dish.

Dip in pretzel rods to coat 3/4. Shake off excess. Lay dipped pretzels on waxed paper. Chill or freeze until set.

try using chocolate bark instead. It is made just for making candies and chocolate covered stuff. It doesn't melt like chips.

Try using a different kind of chocolate

Chocolate Covered Pretzel Recipe

Makes 24
1 (1 pound) bag of pretzels
1 teaspoon vegetable shortening or 1 tablespoon heavy cream, plus more, if needed
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1. Melt chocolate and vegetable shortening in a double boiler over low heat. Stir constantly until JUST melted. Add more shortening, a teaspoon at a time if the chocolate is too thick; it should pour a little faster than maple syrup. When it reaches the right consistency, remove from heat.
2. Dip pretzels one at a time quickly to coat while mixture is still very warm. If mixture starts to harden, stir over a double boiler for about 30 seconds to a 1 minute until melted. Place pretzels on wax paper to set and cool. Immediately dress them up with sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, etc.
3. Let harden in a cool place. The refrigerator speeds the process. Take them out as soon as the chocolate is hard. Store in as cool place or else they will soften. They will keep for about 3 weeks at room temperature if well wrapped.
NOTE: Chocolate will not set well if heated too hot or is too thick. To test, put a thin smear of chocolate on a paper plate or wax paper and refrigerate. See if it hardens (about 5- 10 minutes at the most).

I see they use wax in the ones I have
I wonder how thou they ad it and how much.
they do have chocolate dipping sauce in
the produce area that stays firm
check it out and duplicate it.

good luck snack happy....

use different kinds of chocolate & use wax paper and spray pam cooking spray onto the wax paper

I don't think u have 2 put them in the fridge. Just leave them out.

Hi! The answer to your question is. You do not add anything to the chocolate. You just don't freeze the c.c. pretzels. You can just leave them out for a couple of hours. Or leave them in the refrigerator.
