Bacon and Spaghetti?!
Bacon and Spaghetti?
Can I put cooked bacon in spagetti sauce or is that weird?
Answers:
No it's not weird. Some people put pepperoni in theirs too. Also, if you cook bacon and add it and eggs to a cream sauce, and serve it over spaghetti, that's Spaghetti Carbonara.
Never heard of that before. Try making a tiny portion for yourself to try and test and if you like it and think its good, then thats cool, if not, then at least you tried.
hey, go for it man, as long as it suits your taste, add it all you want :D
Mmm it's a little weird. If you must use it, try using just a little bacon crumbled in with whatever meat you normally but in with your sauce (sausage, hamburger, etc). If you want to be more authentic, you could try Pancetta, which is Italian bacon.
Here's a spaghetti sauce recipe that contains bacon, so you're won't be the first!

I've already tried it and seriously its pretty good. I try putting bacon in lots of my meals I find it ads taste. Try putting it in your grill cheese too :)
Good lord, people, why NOT? I think it would add a wonderful, smoky flavor. You can add pork SAUSAGE why not bacon??? ...jeez...lighten up folks.
There's no "weird" when it comes to food...if you like it, eat it!
The flavors of bacon and tomatoes really do complement each other...the saltiness of the bacon, and the sweetness/tartness of the tomato. Have you ever eaten a B.L.T.??
I think bacon is one of those foods that improves whatever it touches.
You can add anything to a spaghetti dish. I'd use a white cream sauce or an Alfredo sauce instead of the red and you will have something similar to Spaghetti Carbonara. Enjoy!
It doesnt sound too bad to me! If you can put sausage in, then why not bacon?! You might also like to try a recipe that uses a tomato-less sauce called Pasta Carbonara (the net is filled with recipes) and it uses bacon as one of the main ingredients along with milk/cream,eggs, butter, parmesan cheese, wine vinegar, and onions. Its really good. Good luck!
bacon murhroom pastsa its was delious
it's called pasta carbanara........although they use panchetta....bacon is just as good......
I have put bacon in my spaghetti sauce and enjoyed it. My husband didn't like it, though. Everyone has their own taste and not everyone likes the same thing. There is no harm in trying it. I like to experiment with a recipe and try to change it until it is "mine".
My ex-husband's grandmother used to always brown some bacon and crumble it up in her spaghetti sauce. It was very tasty!!
