Brown sugar?!

Question:

Brown sugar?

Is there a way to get brown sugar back to it's original state after it has become more of a brick?? I never seem to be able to use it all fast enough.

Answers:
microwave for 10 seconds at a time till it softens & crumbles....TRIED AND TRUE

Keep it in an airtight container (tupperware is good) and add a peice of apple or a piece of bread. Replace when it gets dry. It should soften up the sugar.

You can microwave it for a few seconds, that should soften it up.

ya theres a little stone you can buy at most
kitchen stores I have one be careful thou
I accadently threw one out with the
last box I had.it works well.

Put a apple slice in it! or slice of soft bread to the package and close the bag tightly.

You can try nuking it in the microwave. Lay some damp paper towel (not soaking wet) in the bottom of a microwave-safe container, put the sugar in, and lay another layer of damp paper towel on top. Nuke it for short increments (like 10 seconds), and keep checking it.

Or, you can break it into smaller chunks and put in in the food processor. I prefer this method, because it's no trouble at all to clean up afterward.

Dump the brick of sugar into an airtight canister of some sort with a brown sugar bear. The next day your sugar will be scoopable and usable. http://www.sugarbearsinc.com/ I got mine at bed bath and beyond and this thing is genius! It's some sort of terracotta and you soak the bear in water for 10 minutes and leave it in your sugar. This $2 trinket has saved me dozens in buying new boxes of sugar.

I bought it after seeing that Giada De Laurentis used one on the food network. No more hard bricks of sugar for me!
