Yes you can replace mayo for plain yogurt or just use pickle relish or ranch dressing, or whatever dressing you prefer!

I've tried mixing it with ketchup alone but then ketchup does not seem thick enough to hold it together so that it breaks up and falls off the bread. However, you might also add some butter or magerine to the mix as that might thicken it up a bit.

You're not telling us why you want to omit the mayo...... Which means yogurt and any other dairy product might not work for you..... I would say extra virgin olive oil with the same spices such as salt, pepper, celery seed, or even better, freshly chopped or minced celery , onion and fresh squeezed lemon. Throw in some fresh herbs, tarragon is great with tuna and chicken salads along with chopped parsley. Hope this works for you.
I hear that vanilla yogurt is a great substitute for mayo on sandwiches and mixing tuna. and it is way better for you.
