How can i make store bought pasta sauce taste better?!

Question:

How can i make store bought pasta sauce taste better?

what kind of herbs or spices can i add to make it taste better?

Answers:
I add sauteed onions,garlic,parsley
and diced tomatoes(fresh).
salt and pepper and a dash of sugar
to break down the acidity.

add some oregano, parsley, basil, ital. seasoning mix, a bay leaf, crushed FRESH garlic (or finely chopped). You could grate a small onion in too... and cover it and let it simmer for at least an hour, sirring occasionaly. I don't use jarred or any prepared foods anymore, but that's what I used to do.

Brown some beef and stir it in. yum.

Here is a list of items I add when making pasta sauce for spaghetti or Lasagna.

Pasta is store bought (Prego Meat Sauce or Prego Sauce with Italian Saussage) but i add the following. ....

add a bit of dry italian seasoning

add a bit of garlic pepper

add a bit of garlic salt

add some garlic butter

All this gives your pasta sauce an added something. :)

Bon Appetite :)

dice some green peppers, garlic, mushrooms, and onion.you just turned that Jarred pasta into homemade!!DONT REVEAL YOUR NEW SECRET...

Add a little bit of beef broth and simmer for a "cooking all day" taste and a little sugar.

I think some of the store bought sauces are pretty good to the point where it isn't really necessary to spend a lot of time making it from scratch unless you have a really discriminating taste for Italian food. I saute diced onion and bell pepper and minced garlic and then add the sauce to it. If you want it spicier you can add some basil and a little oregano or some mixed italian spices, not too much though. For a meat sauce,I do the same thing except brown some hamburger with the onion and bell pepper. It sure tastes good to us.
