What can I do with a can of jalepe?os?
I tried making Jalepe?o poppers --but they're more dificult to make than you think... It was my first failure in the kitchen. Now, I've got 10 pounds of jalepe?os, and I don't know what to do with them. What do you do with a big can of jalepe?os?
Answers:
Make jalepeno sauce:
1 pound jalapeno -- quartered
5 2" sprigs oregano -- remove stems
1 cup cilantro -- chopped
1 large onion -- quartered
6 large garlic clove -- chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 lemon -- juiced
1 cup water
2 cups white wine vinegar
Puree in blender. Pour into pot, bring to boil. Simmer for 15 minutes. Cool, and store in a sterile jar/bottle.
*warning* I made this and the jalepenos actually caused breathing difficulty in me AND my son while cooking it was so strong, but I used fresh....just be sure to have good ventilation.
eat them lol or cook then eat them
eat them with pizza
make pizza, or cheese bacon and jalepenos twists, put in spag bog, in salad rolls, etc.
put them in quesidillas, make salsa, burritos, mix them w/ refried beans
you know, life is not like a box of chocolates, it's more like a jar of jalapenos, what you do today, might just burn your butt tomorrow.......
I'm sure that you could drain them well and then put them in a freezer zip-lock bag and just freeze them! Then you can get them out as you please. We freeze our garden vegetables like that every year.
make tacos and put them in taco
fry them! YUM
Well a little bit easier, try patting them dry, dipping them in a little flour, then egg mixed well with a touch of oil (it makes it a little smoother) then coat in bread crumbs and fry until golden brown. These are called bottle caps and they are fantastic on burgers! I like them on chicken burgers topped with havarti or whatever cheese you prefer works well too. Otherwise I might buy those Pilbury Creasent rolls, before you roll them up put a little greated cheese and chopped Jalepenos on them, roll em up and bake them! Mmmmm. Wish I had 10 pounds of canned Jalepenos right now!
You could have a contest with your friends to see who can eat the most without getting sick.... :)
