What's your favorite home cooked meal? Recipes welcome!?!

Question:

What's your favorite home cooked meal? Recipes welcome!?

Answers:
You'll want to make the dessert earlier in the day. Start by filling a 6 inch by 15 inch baking pan with sliced apples. Next, make your topping by mixing 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder, pinch of salt, and 1 egg. When this is mixed into crumbs, pour it on top of the apples in pan. Pour 1/2 cup of melted butter over the crumbs. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When it time to serve, you might want to put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bowl with it.

You've already made the dessert!

The rest of the meal will be started about 2 hours before serving time.

Make your Old Fashioned Meat Loaf in this way: Mix 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, 1 cup soft bread crumbs, dash of salt and pepper, 2 beaten eggs, 1/4 cup chopped onion, and one 8 ounce can of tomato sauce. Shape it into a long loaf in a 13x9x2" baking or cake pan. Bake this for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and remove to add topping.

Mix the following for topping: Another 8 ounce can of tomato sauce, 1 tablespoon mustard, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon vinegar, and 3/4 cup of water. Pour over the loaf. (NOTE: If you use a 16 ounce can of a specialty tomato sauce such as Italian, just put half in the loaf and half in the topping.)

Return this to the oven to bake for 1 hour. At the same time, put your medium sized potatoes that have been scrubbed into the oven to also bake for that hour at 350 degrees. (Potatoes can also be made in the microwave in the last 15 minutes or so.)

About 15-20 minutes before the meatloaf and potatoes are finished, prepare a green vegetable of your choice.

All that's left now to do is serve. Your meatloaf and potatoes will be finished at the same time as your vegetable. Serve the potatoes with butter or sour cream, and slice the meatloaf. When it's time for dessert, bring on the apple crisp.

That's all there is to it. You have prepared and served a home-cooked meal of which you can be proud.

Grilled steak or porkchops, a baked potato with butter, sour cream, bacon bits and cheddar cheese, a salad with lettuce tomato, purple onions, cheese, boiled eggs, homemade croutons and homemade Ranch dressing, and green beans.

I made an awesome cajun chicken alfredo dish last night. I took 4 chicken breasts and cooked them in a little olive oil in a skillet. I coated both sides of them with Montreal steak seasoning to add a bit of a kick. After the chicken was cooked, I sliced the breast in strips and put it to the side. I then sautéed some garlic in a little olive oil and chopped a cup of sun dried tomatoes and threw them in with the garlic and olive oil. After that was all cooked a bit, I added some cooking sherry (about a fourth cup) and half pint of heavy cream. Reduce the cream by half. Then stir in about a cup of parmesan and the chicken strips back in the sauce. Toss over your favorite pasta. (I like whole wheat spaghetti and my husband likes rigatoni, so I made both). IT WAS DELICIOUS!

If you like spicy soup, this recipe is a hit EVERYTIME I make it.

Brown 8oz of spicy Italian sausage (I usually use turkey sausage to cut calories and fat and make it spicy by adding red pepper flakes.)
Add 1 cup of chopped onion to the sausage. Drain the fat.
Then add 1.5 cups of water, 2 medium sized can of chicken broth, 2 medium sized can of Italian style diced tomatoes, 1 cup of elbow macaroni NOT COOKED! Bring to a boil and let the macaroin cook to al dente.
Then add 1 medium sized can of rinsed red kidney beans. Heat through and enjoy!
I add a sprinkle of parmesan to the top of every bowl for a little extra flavor.

Here's a simple and great recipe for dessert or snack! It's called Monkey Bread.

Just take about 2 cans of biscuits and cut the uncooked bisquits into fourths. Mix some sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and toss the biscuit pieces in the mixture to coat. Put all the pices in a bunt pan and pour whatever left over sugar mixture you have over the biscuits in the bunt pan. Cook as directed on the biscuit cans.
Once done, just flip it out of the bunt pan and tear and ENJOY! YUMMY!

i know im not gonna grab the 10 points for this but honestly my favorite home cooked meal is a kettle of beans that have cooked all day and some fried potatos and cornbread! i dont get to have it often cause my husband doesnt like it but its what i was raised on and brings back all the happy memories of growing up! and living at home!

My favorite home-cooked meal that I cook is meatloaf with rice and gravy with either corn or greens on the side, dinner rolls, and iced tea with lemon. My favorite home-cooked meal that my mother would cook is fried pork chops, corn bread, greens, either sweet potatoes or macaroni and cheese, and iced tea. (Has anyone guessed that my culinary influences are from African-American southern United States cuisine:)?)
