Warm filling appetizer for a cajun shrimp boil?
It needs to be something I can assemble a few hours in advanc and put in the fridge. When werback from the boat, and drunk and starving, I will pop it in the oven for a hearty snack while we wait on dinner to cook.
I was considering artichoke dip or crab stuffed mushrooms, but please help me brainstorm on the other ideas. Thanks!

Well... Maybe due to my expericences from living in New Orleans, I was thinking artichoke dip and stuffed mushrooms when I read your topic... but it looks like you've thought of that.
Since you all are going to be hungry and tired.... something easy and quick... Nachos - tortilla chips, shredded cheese sprinkled on top with green onions, and choice of toppings (shrimp?), plus guacamole and salsa. Just let the cheese melt about 5 to 10 minutes you have a snack that will hold you over until the real meal.
chop up some vegetables and cheese in a bowl and pop it in the micro for a few minutes when you're ready to eat it - great with bread or crackers
How about those mini-quiches in the frozen section? That'll bring down the heat of the shrimp boil. And quick to pop in the oven.
i really dont know but youre making me hungry and can i PLEASE come?!!?!?!?!?!?
Stuffed mushrooms would have been my choice, but here's another suggestion!
Quesadillas would be good, too. Use a single tortilla for each, stuff, and fold each in half like a taco. Stack them vertically in the fridge until ready to cook.
I like chopped grilled chicken, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, chopped black olives, chipotle sauce, and chopped fresh cilantro in my quesadillas... but use whatever fillings appeal to you!
Preheat the oven to high - about 450 degrees. Arrange the quesadillas on a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam, then give the top sides a light spray of Pam as well. Slide the pan into the oven. Give them about 5 minutes, then switch to broil for five minutes. Both sides of the quesadillas should brown a bit and crisp up. The folded shape helps keep the filling spill-out to a minimum.
Serve with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
