Moist Cake?!
Moist Cake?
I have heard that if you add some dry pudding mix when your baking a cake that it makes it more moist? is this true or crazy?
Answers:
I've heard that too and some box cake mixes use that as part of the advertising.
To be honest, I've never met a cake I didin't like.
not moist enough.
this is true. it goes back to my grandma this is her secret to making a great moist cake. (eventhough it is homemade)
if you are using a cake mix that does not require cooking oil try adding a small amount. many cake mixes call for egg and oil, the egg acts as a leaving agent witch causes the cake to rise. the oil keeps the cake moist, if you are using a cake mix like this try brushing a simple syrup mixture of sugar and water over top of the cake once it is baked then apply your icing, this is what pastry chefs call maceration. this is specially meant to keep cakes moist.
I ADD A BOX OF INSTANT PUDDING TO ALL MY CAKES AND NEVER BAKE OVER 25 MINUTES...LEMON PUDDING IN A LEMON CAKE IS SOOOOOO DELICIOUS AND MOIST...MMMMMM
that is true you use vanilla pudding
i put a box of pudding mix in all my cakes. if using cake mix, just use a complimenting flavor of instant pudding mix and increase eggs to 4 instead of 3. i always get rave reviews on my cakes. you can even do that on the cake mixes that allready have pudding in the mix.
instead of oil I add applesauce. Always moist
very true... i just use 2 cups (the already made and portioned kind) of jello pudding. choc. in choc. cake and vanilla in anyother kind.
instead of the oil put in 1 cup mayo. Works great!
I like using chocolate pudding instead of frosting. It is DEFINITELY moist, and much lighter! You don't get that frosted-out feeling in the back of your throat.
you know the one?
Mmm...cake.
