How many ounces in a #12 scoop?!

Question:

How many ounces in a #12 scoop?

Answers:
Scoops are referred to as Dishers in the food service industry.

Looks like they vary from 3 ounces to 3.25 ounces. Also, 2.67 ounces. Probably dependent upon manufacturers since there seems to be no standard.

The closest standard I see is from the USDA. The USDA defines the approximate disher size as the number of scoops to make a quart... for a #12 that's 12 level scoops to make a quart (32 ounces) so a # 12 is about (32/12 = 2.67 ounces). However, I believe manufacturers probably round it up to 3 ounces.

Probably more info then you wanted... a #12 seems to be 3 or 3.25 ounces, but there are companies that sell 2.67 ounce dishers too.
