Question:

Is it possible to roast any kind of beef\steak?

can i put any kind of beef\steak in the oven or it must be some kind special for that?

Answers:
You can roast any piece of meat you like but a lot would be too tough to eat if you roasted it too quickly, at a high temperature. Ask your butcher or read labels to find the best method for cooking the various cuts of meat!

I think you can rroast most beefs, but you could check with your butcher, he will advise you.

u can roast beef lol xxx

Usually when people I know roast chicken or beef, they use a crock pot.

u can roast beef but i fink thet steak is yummy on a bbq! hehe

Meat from the forequarter (front half!) is too tough to roast.

The best roasting joints are from the rear or near the ribs of the animal

Absolutely !!!

And I tell you if you want the best tasting most tender beef imaginable try doing it this way - it takes time......but

To get the best out of a roasting joint or single steak firstly sear it all over very quickly in a pan or even with a blowtorch if you have one.

Contrary to popular believe this is not to seal in the juices because there is no way you can ever seal in juices when cooking meat, it's just not possible, however by searing the meat what you are doing is introducing more flavour to the meat.

After searing the meat place it in a preheated oven on a very low heat - 55C/130F.

If you are cooking a rib of beef or a large joint leave it on the oven for 20 hours.....YES 20 hours.

For a 12oz steak leave it in for 8 hours....YES 8 hours.

I have cooked beef this way myself after reading the same book on food science that inspired Heston Blumenthal (Owner and Chef at The Fat Duck restaurant in Bray, UK - twice voted best restaurant in the world !!!!) and I can honestly say it's perfect.

Try it, I dare you :-)
