My Mom was a pretty basic cook she didn't know how when she married my Dad. She made roast on Sunday, fried chicken, pork chops, lamp chops, hamburgers & hot dogs. She made a lot of jello and pudding for dessert.
Candian bacon on an English muffin with cheese sauce with green jello mixed with cottage cheese for special company. But I really can't think of any particular she made best.. the roast was good though she would marinate it in vinegar before she cooked it. Rarely used salt or pepper.

My mom never did cook. Every once in a while she might have burned a grilled cheese fo us, but that is about all we got. My dad's red beans and rice was always my favorite. Luckily, he could cook or my sisters and I would have starved.

My mom was a very good cook. Looking back on it i'm gonna go with the splitpea soup with smoked ham in it as my favorite overall. But she also cooked very tasty fryed porkchops and garlic mashed potatoes with gravey.

Cube Steak, Sawmill Gravy, Peas, Homemade biscuits
Of course, to me, even if it comes from a can, it always seems to taste better because she fixes it!
She's an awesome cook! And I am so lucky to still have her (AND for her to be active and vibrant at 74!)..in my life...
God Bless all Our Moms!

Crab Tetrazini
I can barely remember what it is anymore, but it had a lot of crab, and pimento in a cream base with sherry perhaps...

Pork chop with mix veg as side such as mix small onion, bell paper and asparagus. It was really good. I miss a lot, since I left home for long time, I probably have enough time to learn how to do it, but still not as good as my mum.
