Sloppy-Joes
? 1 lb ground beef
? 1 large onion, finely chopped
? 2 cups mushrooms, chopped
? 5 tomatoes, diced
? 2 Tbls all-purpose flour
? 1/2 cup water
? 1/4 cup cider vinegar
? 1/4 cup chili sauce (Heinz)
? 1/4 cup ketchup
? 8 whole-wheat hamburger buns (toasted)
Crumble beef into a large nonstick skillet; cook over medium heat until it starts to sizzle, about 1 minute. Add onion and mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until the vegetables are soft and the moisture has evaporated, 8-10 minutes. Add tomatoes and flour; stir to combine. Stir in water, vinegar, chili sauce and ketchup and bring to a simmer, stirring often. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened and the onion is very tender, 8-10 minutes. Serve warm on buns.

If you have some lovely, ripe tomatoes sitting around, do a nice fresh tomato & basil pasta...throw it over some linguine or angel hair...sprinkle on a little parmesan...yum! and super simple!
2 cups seeded, and coarsely chopped tomato
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 cup firmly packed fresh basil leaves, minced
1 cup firmly packed fresh parsley leaves, minced
3 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan
3 garlic cloves, or to taste, minced
2 teaspoons salt
1 pound linguine
Fresh parsley to garnish
Make tomato sauce:
In a bowl combine well all the sauce ingredients and let the sauce stand at room temperature, covered, for at least 1 hour.
In large pot, bring 5 quarts of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and stir to prevent sticking. Return water to boil and cook until pasta is firm but cooked, approximately 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain pasta well. Serve with tomato sauce, and garnish with fresh parsley.
Enjoy!!

Steak, salad and asparagus and french bread. Boil the asparagus for 5-8 minutes, buy the salad in a bag and a few extra vegetables, buy the par-baked bread and heat it up in the oven for 10 minutes so the house smells like freshly baked bread. As for the steak, get a cast-iron pan very hot, cook it for 2 minutes then rotate it 90 degrees. Then flip the steak and cook it 2 minutes, rotate it and 2 more minutes. Let it rest, get everything together and then dinner is ready,

try boneless chicken on the grill. It is very good based with an all-seasoning rub with a little rosemary and paprika. trick is to turn it over and brush it with olive oil.
I'm amazed at the crap people eat. High fat and low nutrition. Very few suggestions included vegetables. No wonder people are so fat in this country. A meal is not complete in our house without a green or yellow vegetable. Grill a steak, corn on the cob and steam some string beans. Pasta Primavera is also a good choice. Good God, no wonder Americans are obese and die at 50.
find a chicken marsala recipe in your favorite cook book or at foodnetwork.com, very fast easy and delicious
Well, tonight I'm making pork chops with broccoli and baked potatoes. I know it's ordinary but sometimes ordinary things are the best. I'm don't know if you're a big side dish person but I love zucchini covered in cheese as a side dish. If it's already warm, where you live, are you into grilling? Steak and asparagus come out great grilled.
