Frozen chicken?!

Question:

Frozen chicken?

I bought some chicken about a month ago froze it when I got home, I defrosted to cook it so my question is "how long can it be frozen before it goes bad", don't want to get food poisoning. Thanks for your help

Answers:
I had frozen chicken for 2 months before cooking it well and it was fine.

A millenium.

You can freeze meats for several months as long as they are wrapped good, if not they will get freezer burned and taste something terrible! The chicken is fine though! Enjoy your dinner!

Meat can be frozen for up to a year. As soon as you thaw it out though, you have to use it within three days and you cannot refreeze it. You should be good!

About 4 months if it's sealed really well.

as long as it doesn't get freezer burned it will still be good. i would probably say 3-4 months, though.

the chicken will be just fine you probably keep them in the freezer for about 6 mos if properly raped

korkie

Well i was a former cook/manager at KFC we would hold chicken at 30* for about a week and if we froze it at 0* or below we could hold it for 3 months. Yet it ussually lasted about 10-11 days at 30* and food service laws are very strict so probably 4-5 months.

I wouldn't worry about how long the chicken was frozen but I would worry about how long you have this chicken defrosted before you cook it..........
