What are some non-stick alternatives to teflon?!

Question:

What are some non-stick alternatives to teflon?

I like cooking - hate scrubbing, fear teflon.
Any ideas?

Answers:
Well about 2 years ago I got rid of all teflon that I had in the house.
I bought stainless steel. Yeah it sticks sometimes... but only if I burn it!
What I do is that I'd let it sit on the heat for a while... and then I pour the oil in the pan (or whatever)... then I sprinkle a little bit of salt (it prevents the food from sticking).
But if my food sticks... I'd pour hot water in the pan (or whatever) and let it sit for a while (half hour or something)... then the food would come off real easy with one wipe of the sponge.

cast iron, stainless steel.i use a spray called mazola that has no alcohol and no silicones in it

best way i know of is to get your pans hot, like really hot. then use oil or clarified butter(butter with the milk solids removed). those are the best ways i have learned in school. but there is always going to be some scrubbing involved. best way to avoid alot of scrubbing is soak your pans right away, dont let the stuff on the bottom cool and become hard and stuck to the pan

chefs have a great way of getting burnt stuff off the bottom and making a sauce out of it -- its called deglazing the pan -- just pour some wine or some lemon or lime juice in the bottom of a hot pan after you remove the food but before you take it off the heat.
