Pizza Dough?!

Question:

Pizza Dough?

I generally buy my pizza dough, but I can't ever get it to stretch out thin enough. It always shrinks, is there a way to avoid this?

You have to let the dough relax 15 to 20 minutes and then try stretching it out
king arthur.com has good pizza dough recipes.

yes buy pizza instead of making it

Try my mums alternative to pizza dough with yeast. Make up a scone dough, roll out as normal but mix in a little olive oil while adding the milk. Also pizza on pita bread is yummy too.

Yeah, it's called BAD dough.

Pizza dough shrinks, not during yeasting (RESTING or COOLING) process, but when you're slapping it out.

If you can't get it to stretch out thin enough, I really wonder what kind of recipe or method (of slapping) you are using.

If you could provide some more details in how you are making it, I can probably give you some good suggestions.

*Sigh* Real pizza dough will not work with a rolling pin.

The nature of the dough is to stretch, and stretch back. All you need is to learn how to stretch it correctly... if you have dough that stretches back.

Here's a suggestion... if you are using a good recipe, add a bit more water. If it sticks to your hands a bit, it should stretch easier.

try to use a rolling pin to stretch out
