Is there something I can substitute for baking powder in a recipe?!

Is there something I can substitute for baking powder in a recipe?

I'm in the middle of making a lemon loaf and discovered I don't have it.

for each 1 teaspoon of baking powder in a recipe use 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar

baking soda- watch the measurement

no - sorry. there really is no good substitute. you'll need to head to the store and pick some up.

how much dose it call for. prob and spoon or 2. i just do not add it all together. there are much more ingredients you wont know the difference.
