What should I cook?!
What should I cook?
Expecting two friends for dinner tonight. We gonna watch football and have some beers. What shall I cook? I need something not too difficult, tasty, quick and cheep as we have the end of month I am getting paid next week :o)
Answers:
pizza, chips and salsa are always good with beer and football
How about nachos or tacos? They go well with beer and are easy to make. Just cook the ground beef with taco seasoning and let everyone add their own cheese, jalapenos, tomato, sour cream, etc.
Why don't you put some frozen pizza in the oven? That is typical football watching food isnt it? Pasta sauce from a jar and pasta? Or why dont you make some big sandwiches "foot longs" like they have at Subway. And then add to it by having some pretzels and stuff on the table in case they get hungry later.
hamburgers and potato chips are cheap and good for sports parties
yep, nachos sound good also
How about something to complement that beer??? Here are some ideas:
1. Smoked polish sausage sandwiches on french rolls, with mustard etc., along with store bought cole slaw and chips.
2. Chicken tenders, both teriyaki and buffalo style, along with a salad, bread, and some great brownies.
3. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes with a premade salad.
4. Hot dogs and hamburgers
5. Pizza
Nachos......brown and season some ground beef...heat up some refried beans. Lay out some cheese, onions, tomatoes, avocados...sour cream, hot sauce...chips of course.
Each person can make their own plate of nachos to their own desire.
I got one word: Buffalowings
I think maybe..
Chopped Beef Sandwhiches or Chopped Bakers
You can buy ready made Chopped BBQ Beef in a tub (not too expensive) and slap it on some hamburger buns or baked potatoes. Dice up an onion andput it out with some shredded cheddar and pickles.
Chili Cheese Dogs
Make your own Tacos (ground beef, can of beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, shredded cheese and tortilla or taco shells). You can easily make Chalupas by taking regular flour tortillas and pan-frying them in a little bit of oil until crispy on both sides
Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches with Pretzels (You can make a great Pretzel dipping sauce by mixing 1 block of cream cheese with a cup of Salsa, and it tastes great on sandwiches instead of mayo too!)
I like calzones, the cheap, easy way...get premaid pizza crust (one crust makes two calzones), tomato sauce, any will do, a nice size bag of shredded mozzarella. Next all you have to worry about is stuffing, pepporonni is cheap and popular, and for veggies, you can buy 1 green pepper, 1 red pepper, 1 tomato, you get the idea, just one piece of a variety and then chop and let everyone pick their own fillings. Then just stuff away and seal shut, poke some holes in the top for venting and bake (usually lower the temp by 25degrees from the pizza instructions and cook about 10 mins longer). Serve with the sauce for dipping. Yummy and super cheap, to serve 4 it should only cost about $10-15
TURKEY WRAPS 2 hearts romain lettuce,6 slice turkey breast,6 slices bacon, (cook crispy) shredder white chesse ,ranch dressing,2diced tomatoes, 1 package of big flour tortilla ,mix all the ingredients and make a wrap is like a big burrito served whit fruit or potato chips easy and you expand like 20.00 dllr
Look at the answer I just gave regarding the lemon herb chicken. For a veggie try: Green beans with a tablespoon of olive oil, sliced almonds, and minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste. A baked potato topped with butter or margarine, potato toppings (you can find the packet in your produce dept.), and sour cream and shredded cheese. Very tasty and inexpensive meal.
Hot wings are a good thing. I like using Newman's hot-wings sauce. Bake the wings the dip in sauce and put back in oven for just a few minutes. They are soooo good.
Good luck and enjoy.
i think that sandwiches and a great potatoe salad are delicious. you can also make hot dogs. i dont think that you want to spend your day cooking while your friends are watching the game.
nachos or tacos would be fast and low budget
