What can I add to my butternut squash?!

Question:

What can I add to my butternut squash?

I boiled some butternut squash and I want to know what I can add to it to give it some taste. I'm on a diet so anything with no salt or sugar would be better-think lean for me. ; P

Answers:
You can try Pepper or Nutmeg,or even a dash of Ground Clove! You can also put Chipped Almond's or Pecan's into it,to give it an interseting texture and flavour! If you want sweet, without the sugar,Try Raisin's! Wife and I do this alot, and the Kid's like it too!

salt and pepper, lemon and fresh herbs

fresh thyme goes very well with butternut squash.
you can also use some butter and brown sugar to make a sweet side.

Add a little garlic and a little basil. Maybe a melted tbsp of margarine too.

slivered almonds would work great

Melted butter, cinammon, and a lil sugar is delish

créme fraiche, its better than butter and makes it creamier, and a bit of salt and pepper, mm yummy!

If you have some " I cant believe its not butter" it has 0 calories and a little cinnamon, maybe a little splenda, it has 0 calories also. That is if you carry that stuff in your house like I do.

I love nutmeg on my butternut squash.
You can add a little cinnamon too, if you like.
Next time you cook it try cutting it into sticks (like french fries) put them in a bowl or plastic bag and drizzle a little bit of olive oil. Spread them out on a baking sheet and cook at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes and add any herbs (thyme, rosemary, or both) before they cool. You'll never think you're eating squash. Works great with any squash or sweet potato.

Add a little bit of nutmeg and cinnamon...it will taste a little like pumpkin pie, especially if you bake it carefully at 350 for a few minutes. Even changing the texture of squash can make it more appetizing (by baking it for dieters).

Raisin's and chopped toasted walnuts.
