I'm making soup and my blender broke?!

Question:

I'm making soup and my blender broke?

Any ideas on how to make it smooth. It's a cream of tomato and the tomatoes are in chunks, as is the garlic, onion, etc. I'm using a friends kitchen and there are very few devices in the kitchen.

Answers:
Plan B is to finish the soup then strain out the chunks. If not, you're going to be whisking for a while.

I think the best way would be to force it through a fine sieve several times as you dont have a blender at hand.

do you have a small hand mixer or a food processor? that would work for the most part.

stew it long enough to become smooth or just borrow or buy somebodys blender. garage sale or something. cheap and it usually woks

Get a fork out and flog that sucker for all it's worth!

Use your wisk and smash the 'q'ell out of it
I have made puree with my chefs knife in a paper plate.
lumpies in soup can't hurt.
