We have to make a Spanish dish using an authentic recipe. Does anyone have an authentic recepie for churros or guacamole?

Look on food tv, or americas test kitchen

ooh!!! make flan de leche!!! it is so good. we ate it in spanish class!!!

(Cuban version of the original Spanish one). Serves 6.

1 can condensed milk
1 can (same can) water
6 egg yolks
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

1. Candy the mold that is being used with: 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon water. Melt this in the mold until it is syrupy. Let it cool in the refrigerator.
2. Put all the above ingredients in a blender. Mix well and pour into the candied mold. Cover tightly with aluminum foil, put in a pan of water, put into a 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.

3. Leave it covered in the refrigerator until ready to set the next day.

4. Take it out of the mold into a platter upside-down to give it a caramel topping.

!!! :)

I'd go with the guacamole, it's a lot easier than churros, so here ya go and good luck!
Ingredients

4 California Avocados
1 Cup coarsely chopped green olives
? Cup coarsely chopped, toasted, slivered almonds
4 large cloves garlic, chopped finely
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped finely
? Cup medium-dry sherry
2 Tbsp finely chopped parsley
Salt, to taste, depending on saltiness of olive

Instructions

Coarsely mash (DO NOT PUREE) California avocados. Fold in remaining ingredients. Serve with pork rinds.
Guacamole is best made as close to service as possible. Store in an airtight

Here is a really easy Spanish Tortilla recipe:
Spanish Tortilla
In Spain, a tortilla is an omelette of eggs, potatoes, salt and olive oil. Additional ingredients may include peppers, onions, tuna, anchovies, artichokes, asparagus, mushrooms and cucumber. This is very different from Mexico, where tortilla refers to a flatbread of corn or flour.

Amount to serve 4

1 pound potatoes
4 eggs
Salt
Olive oil

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Fry them in a frying pan at low heat with enough olive oil to cover the potatoes completely. When the potatoes are soft, nearly "boiled" in the oil but not brown, drain them well and mix them with the beaten eggs.

Put this mixture in a non-stick frying pan coated with a very thin film of olive oil, at low heat. Spread the mixture over the bottom of the pan with a pancake turner and shape the edges. After three minutes, invert the tortilla in the pan with the help of a dish or the lid of a pot. Let it cook on the other side in the same way.

It must be golden brown outside, well shaped, and juicy in the center.

Guacamole is pretty easy; not sure if it's Spanish.

Can you get Mexican or Spanish chorizo or Portugese chourico where you are? It's a slightly spicy chopped or ground red sausage (red from paprika and hot pepper). You can grill, fry, bake, broil or about anything with it.

Dice or slice up some chorizo, peppers, and onions and simmer until the veggies are tender. Serve on a roll or over rice. This can be done in a Crock Pot, so is pretty easy to bring somewhere. It's pretty much a no-brainer to make.

guacamole isn't from Spain

I agree with Poe.. Guacamole and churros are Mexican not Spanish food. Being from Spain I think I can help you. Try something simple like some Tapas. Arros con leche is also great.

Banderillas - A Spanish Tapa

INGREDIENTS:
1 Box Round Toothpicks
1 jar Gherkin Pickles
1 jar Cocktail Onions
1 jar Green Olives (pitted & stuffed with pimento, garlic or anchovies)
1 can Anchovies
1 can Chunk White Tuna in Oil
1 can or jar Artichoke Hearts in Water or Oil, cut in Halves
1 jar Banana Wax Peppers or Pepperoncini

Traditional banderillas are made with the pickle, onion, olive and tuna skewered onto the toothpick, however, you can mix and match the ingredients listed above.
