There's a lot you can do with shake&bake...

Food.com

Also, go buy Rachael Ray's 30-minute meals cookbook. I love it.

Id cook pasta.. get bunch different pasta noodles, boil them, mix it with different sauce or meats, or vegetables..easy

When I was single I lived on pot pies and mac & Cheese.
Sometimes I would just buy something then call Mom and ask her how to cook it.

A good website is www.meals.com. It's got a bunch of ideas and recipes.
Remember your crock pot is your friend.

Spaghetti, quesadillas, sandwiches, salmon, steak, chicken....all very easy and not very time consuming. go to yahoo recipies and you can find lots of other stuff too

I'm not a single guy, but i did live with my bro and his friends, so when they got hungry and i was to tired to chef up, we just grilled a steak on the george foreman, takes like 5 mins. and its defenitely a single mans food ;)

English muffin pizzas
Slight toast an English muffin and then put a layer of pizza quick sauce on it. Top with cheese and your favorite meat and broil for a couple of minutes (until the cheese melts.)

You can do the same thing with tuna fish and cheese....leave out the pizza sauce.

Those were my favorite single guy foods. Enjoy.

hahha i live bymyself tooo...biggest investment i ever made for my kitchen was a FOreman Grill...quick and ez and healthy too...like last night i made hamburgers in 15 min....it comes with a recipe book and a guide..all you need is the meats and seasoning and bread....quick and ez i use it everynight....then maybe some mac and cheese, and some wheat bread and salad and im good too go....

get a BBQ , and lots of meat , real easy to cook and you cant go wrong with a nice juicy steak !!! , plus you know what gos with BBQ , BEER.

I'm only thirteen and a good cook, but I stay simple and prepare easy things like chicken quesadillas. All I do is put a totilla on a pan and flip it until it gets a little brown then I add cheese and put it on a plate add chicken put in a microwave for 1minute or until it melts and the chicken is warm plus you can add your own spices. Or go on foodnetwork.com and type in what you like.

One of the easiest things I find to cook for myself is pasta. Just cook off a pound or two of pasta then toss it with your favorite store bought pasta sauce. This makes tons of servings that is easily reheated in the microwave. You could even spice it up by browning some Italian sausage or ground beef and adding it to the sauce. The best part about all this is it's good, filling and doesn't break the bank.

you can google quick recipes or go to www.foodnetwork.com

wahoo! saved me five points. :)

right now i just eat out for all my meals. but $40 a meal is adding up lately so i've started to eat in once or twice a week.. my meals.

spaghetti with garlic toast.
frozen chicken fingers and fries.
some sort of marinated chicken with the instant mashed potatoes. most everything else takes too much effort..

buy a cuisinart griddler. it's real easy and you can pull the plates off to clean them, much easier than the foreman..

Ya know what? It doesn't matter if you're a single guy or a single woman... you can still have nice meals that aren't so hard to prepare. I'm sure people will suggest so many things. Personally, I wouldn't know where to begin. Back in the day when my son was in college and tiring of boxed mac & cheese, and burgers and steak, he asked me for recipes. I made him a whole cookbook that included tips and methods and filled with recipes of from appetizers to sides to main dishes. Some he grew up with and many new ones... each with any tip that my relate to making that particular dish. You already know what the obvious things are, steaks, grilled chicken, baked potatoes (in the oven, not the microwave), pasta & sauce, etc. Here's what I suggest. Go to one of those big book stores like Borders or Barnes and Noble. Get yourself over to the cookbook section, and I bet you'll find books that are made for single people wanting simple things to cook. Look for things like that, but pick up one cookbook... one the everyone should have "Joy of Cooking".

Buy yourself some prepared pizza crusts. Buy some good sauces, and shredded mozzarella. Go crazy with toppings (from cooked chicken, ground beef or turkey, mushrooms, etc., etc. You can make yourself some pretty impressive pizzas, and maybe have some leftover for lunch the next day.

You'll quickly learn what's easy to cook, and how you should stock your fridge, shelves and freezer.

Good Luck and enjoy!

(I'm with the guy who suggested a grill that's not Foreman... hate that thing, but I don't need to have something that cooks both sides at once either. It squishes out the natural juices that way)

Here's a great recipe site:

Costco has $5 whole rotisserie chicken, which can last for days.

www.recipezaar.com and www.allrecipes.com are great recipe websites. the site is totally free, too.

i personally like to eat burgers and fries, boneless chicken breasts, steaks, and pizzas. but there's plenty of foods you can cook if you live alone. www.campbells.com and www.McCormick.com is good too for recipes.

Get the cookbook - a can, a man, a plan - it was made for you and the recipes are quite tasty.

The recipes are designed with a guy in mind with no cooking experience.

Don't forget about the glories of breakfast for dinner and also fried chicken is great to do on a weekend because you can fry several breasts and have one with the traditional dinner that night and save one for the next day because your going to make potatoe salad so on Sunday you have chicken breast potato salad and corn on the cob to eat and then take a cold breast with you to work on Monday

Fried Chicken: Several boneless skinless chicken breasts, a nice quart size baggie, -- put 1/2 cup flour into the baggie and add 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp pepper. mix all up then put in the chicken breasts and coat them all real good with the flour. Heat a skillet with lots of oil 1/4 cup maybe even. When the oil is hot, stick the chicken in and brown it real good on both sides (cook on med to med high) place them in a dish , cover and bake on 350 20 min to 1/2 hour. Delish!!

Boil several potatoes after washing them very good. Leave the skins on. Boil several eggs at the same time. ( I usually use about 8 med potatoes and 8 eggs). Chop up some onion (half of a medium one) chop up some celery. chop up some pickles (dill is the best) In a large bowl mix 1 to 1+ 1/2 cup of mayonaise with 1 tblspn of mustard, lots of salt and pepperand a little dill weed along with some pickle juice from the pickle jar and after you have peeled the potatoes and eggs and cut them up in bite size pieces mix the stuff all together for your salad.

Another real good thing is quiche (wait! it is good and it is easy) Get a pie crust already made roll it in the dish and arrange it to fit nicely then put down swiss cheese and cut up ham and broccoli or asparagus or something like that with chopped onion and some celery if you want then pour over it 1 and 1/2 cup milk (2% or whole) mixed with 3 eggs and salt and pepper. Throw some more swiss cheese on the top and bake it on 350 for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes -- just when it starts looking set in the middle (don't forget to preheat the oven) This is really good with a salad. Don't forget to salt and pepper to taste.

Then there is always the famous Joes Special. Thaw and drain a box of spinach. Wring all of the water out of it good (use a clean kitchen towel, I always do) Place a small amount of oil in a skillet and when it is hot throw in some hamburger and some onion and then throw in some mushrooms salt and pepper and also a little oregano (small amount). Drain excess grease. Throw in the spinach after the hamburger is pretty cooked and then when the spinach is thoroughly warmed good beat some eggs up and throw them in too. You can tell when the eggs are done so then sprinkle it with some parmeson cheese and enjoy! I almost forgot to tell you to only use the amount of spinach that suits you. Some people do not want the whole box in there.
