Should I peel the pawpaw when I put it in a fruit salad?!

Question:

Should I peel the pawpaw when I put it in a fruit salad?

I'm trying to surprise my wife with a tropical fruit salad & I'm not really sure if I should peel it or just wash it & cut it in pieces. :)

cheers,

Answers:
Peel it, some fruits have tasty rinds, pawpaws really don't havy tasty rinds.

Definately peel the pawpaw! I live in the tropics and eat pawpaw all the time.

hey if you do fruit salad..it has to be ready to bite. So peel it.
If it's not mix with other fruits...say like just pawpaw.. cut it but do not peel it.
then you cut it like bite pieces but dont seperate them .
its like cutting a wedge of it and run your knife to the fruit leghtwise and then cut it crosswise without seperating the pieces.
Serve it with a spoon. Or you spoon it out to her mouth.
Now that's another surprise!

peel the pawpaw, don't put it in your pocket

to present nicely, you could cut it into lengthways strips keeping the peel on but after deseeding then run the knife carefully between the skin and fruit and then segment bite size pieces but leave it sitting on the skin. a couple of lime wedges goes well.
If in a fruit salad I would then remove the peel and dress it with fresh lime juice or also passionfuit juice is good

Ofcourse, the skin is inedible. You may also thread it onto a skewer. Its my fav fruit. I could eat a whole medium sized in one go. It also has some very special digestive enzymes found in no other fruit, plus Vit A. The best which are almost red inside are found in Africa. When you buy whole leave it to ripen ...turns yellowish and softish on touch. Enjoy!
