Why do people love your tuna salad?
What's in it, huh?
Answers:
because I use grilled Tuna steaks--no canned junk. Then I add my mayo (which i infuse with balsamic vinaigrette) fresh cilantro, salt/ pepper. to make my sandwich I put a layer of tuna salad, lettuce, tomato, and a avocado wedge. All those flavors together are incredible!!!!
Sirena tuna, S&W mayo, finely diced green onion & celery, lemon juice, baby capers and a mashed anchovy
My tuna salad is simple.
I mix mayo, lil squirt of mustard, sweet relish, sometimes I put cut up hard boil eggs and celery pieces in it. I also put Beau Monde Seasoning in it. Nothing fancy. I also like the tuna salad on toasted bread or crackers. =0}
Cause I make it with love.
Oh and a little mayo, celery and for a little kick (if you want) hot sauce. Plus you can't beat a little potato chips on top.
Add some dill weed and dill pickle juice! I use mayo, dill, dill pickle juice, sweet relish, celery, hard boiled eggs, pepper.
And get a good white tuna, not the ground up cheap stuff.
I have one standard recipe that I serve two different ways. For general family fare (ex: kids' sandwiches, cold tuna & pasta salads) I add sweet relish. For a more sophisticated menu I go with smoke seasoning extract. If the latter is for use in a hot dish I ditch the mayo (of course) and substitute with a high quality creamed soup, EVOO, cheese sauce, or lightly salted butter.
