Need ideas for fancy appetizer/snacks?!

Question:

Need ideas for fancy appetizer/snacks?

I am having a premiere of a film I made and I want to have fancy foods to snack on during the movie. There will be a few 17 year olds so I am serving sparkling grape juice in those fancy wine bottles. I have so much to do and I am at a total mind block trying to think of appetizers to serve. Please help! Thanks!

You can cut up pieces of chicken and cook them up in a satay sauce (just buy the satay sauce marinade), place them on a tray over lettuce, have toothpicks with them.

You can make mini chicken and leek pies, using a muffin tin. Use a cutter to cut rounds of puff pastry, then put mixture in.

Spring rolls never go astry, neither do mini dim sims.

You can mini hamburgers. Make little meatballs. Use a scone cutter to cut rounds out of white bread and grill them. Place meatball on top, with some cheese, grill to melt, maybe a little bit of lettuce (or not), and tomatoe sauce. Quite cute I thought when I saw them.

Hope that helps. If not have a look at:

Congrats on film :)

Here are a few simple ideas. One is called a fruit pizza. Take rolled sugar cookie dough, slice it and press the slices together to make a "pizza crust." Cook as per directions on the roll. Let cool completely and top with this mixture:
8 oz of cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Mix with beater until smooth.
Once you spread this mixture on the crust, take your favorite fruits and top your pizza. I find a combo of 3 to 5 types of fruits work best. I like to use canned and frozen fruits when I am in a hurry. I use, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pineapple, and kiwi. Let chill for an hour in the fridge. Cut into squares and serve.

Another idea is to serve crackers with different types of cheeses, vegetables, fruits, and a few fancy dips.

croketas, kenepes, meatballs, or empanadas

Fruit kabobs - starwberry & diced mozzarella on party picks (Any combo of fruits & cheese)

You can fill the cherry tomatoes (I mentioned earlier), the same way - pipe the herbed or salmon cream cheese in some -- and prepared pesto in the rest. Top each cherry tomato w a tiny bay shrimp.

Puff pastry wrapped pencil asparaugs - slice the asparagus in thirds, blanch in salted water, pluge in ice water, dry; and wrap a piece of puff pastry around each & bake.

Believe it or not, the big warehouse stores have some excellent frozen ones. Keep it simple.

You want them to be easy too, right?

Brie cheese with (drained) crushed pineapple artfully dumped on top...heat in the oven or slowly in the microwave...just until the cheese gets nice and gooey...serve with crackers

Spread cream cheese on slices of smoked salmon, sprinkle lightly with dill...tightly roll up the slices of salmon and then cut into "coins"...this will make pretty pin-wheels

Sour cream and/or plain yogurt mixed with a chunk of blue cheese and a handful of walnuts...blend to absolute smoothness...serve with endive as the dipping tool

Make small balls of cantaloupe and wrap each with a small piece of prosciutto or Spanish Serrano ham...fix in place with a toothpick

cold boiled shrimp--better if already peeled---and a selection of good shrimp dips

a platter of perfectly roasted, sliced roast beef...served with a selection of mustards, mayonnaise mixed with Worcestershire sauce, sliced pickles and slices of pickled beet (although big time stain precaution will be necessary if you serve beet...dry them off on paper towels before arranging)...serve with pre'sliced very small rolls or thinly sliced bread

Bloody Mary′s might be a nice drink to have mixed up in quantity...with or without alcohol
