Can Cooking spray instead of butter on grilled cheese?
I am watching my calories and fat intake and figured using the spray would be better than butter. I was just wondering of it works on grilled cheese.
Answers:
Yes...it's great for that...and some brands (like PAM) have a Butter Flavored Spray...(I use it all the time..on popcorn and things like that!)...
It will work to keep it from sticking to the pan, but forget the nice buttery crispy crust.
lol i dont know what it would taste like but i know it will work lol thats cute lol
it works. You will not get the same buttery taste in the bread, but it will toast nicely. Just don't turn the heat up too high, or the bread will tend to burn before the cheese is melted inside.
Absolutely, but it doesn't taste as good. You can get butter flavored cooking spray.
yes, just give each side a quick spray and press in a panini pan, or in a forman grill.... the crust will become crisp and it is a TON healthier.
yes, it works just as good.
another thing you may be interested in is Enova Oil. It has ) fat and Calories!
spray the bread with it and it will brown, yes. i think natural stuff tends to be better for you anyway...i'd use butter and just watch how much.
you can use it, but it won't have that great flavor that butter gives it.
A light mayo (or regular if not watching weight) spread on the bread will work in a pinch as well.
Gotta have that butter taste so why not use the buttter spray that has a lot less calories or the spray that is flavored with butter. It just doesn't taste the same. I have tried it and it was yucky!!
