Poultry can ideally be used within _____ of receiving?!

Question:

Poultry can ideally be used within _____ of receiving?

24 Hours
48 Hours
3 Days
5 Days

Answers:
Ideally within 24 hours (or less than 48) as long as it's been refrigerated. If any prolonged period of non-refrigeration (within logical reason), much less.

Preferably within 24 hours, but if kept in package up to 48 hours, but no more or you risk getting sick.

3 days.

if refridgerated-48 hours if frozen-2 weeks

Since you don't know how long it's been on the shelf at your grocer, you should always use within a day of the sell-by date on the label, which is several days after they put it on display. Look through the packages while in the store for the one with the "furthest out" date. They're usually at the back of the case, as they want to sell the ones that are due to expire first. (The same is true for packaged produce and dairy.)

If you can't use by that date, wrap in portions sizes appropriate to your household, and freeze.

Use or freeze within 24 hours.

i'd say 3 days....chicken starts to really stink up the place if you go any longer than that.
