How long can you use Beef Flavored Bouillon cubes?!

Question:

How long can you use Beef Flavored Bouillon cubes?

Do they go bad after a while??

Answers:
I guess my question is why would you want to. There are too many choices available now that are so much better than bouillon.

You can get good beef stock in most grocery stores. You can also get beef base, similar to bouillon, but much less salty and much more flavor.

But to your question. Look for a use by date on the package. If you don't have the original package, open the bouillon cube. If it is mushy, throw it out. If it looks discolored, throw it out. If it won't dissolve easily, throw it out. In other words, if you don't have the original package and you have any doubts, don't use it.

away from humidity up to 3 months or 2 years if put in a freezer

look for a date code like on a milk bottle- could be on the cap, the bottom of the box or jar. If none, and they've been on the shelf for more than about 6 months , chuck them.

There is usually a best buy date on the box. However, if you keep it in a cool, dark place the shelf life would be extended.
