Does a toaster oven work as well as a regular oven in terms of...?!

Question:

Does a toaster oven work as well as a regular oven in terms of...?

baking some treats? Our oven at home doesn't work and I really want to bake something, but can't afford another oven at the moment so I was just wondering if using a toaster oven is as good as a regular oven if I was to bake lets say little cheescakes or cookies?

Answers:
It will work. Not as well, and it will take significantly longer, but it will work so long as the item will fit in the oven. Check the manual to see if it has recommended times for baked goods but more importantly, check to see what the max. time suggested is. For example, suppose your toaster oven shouldn't be left on for more than 2 hours without running the risk of it overheating and causing a fire. You'd have to base what you cook on what will cook in under 2 hours.

ETA: You can buy cheesecakes and other desserts at the store that only need to be reheated. This will work fine in a toaster oven.

cookies are probably ok, I dont think i would apptemp someting like cheesecake or cakes.
I'm sure you could cook a pie crust in it and have creme pies.
as far as baking other stuff.. food items,.. yes most of it you can.. just make sure it is not to fatty or you risk the chance of catching it afire.

Only if you're a gourmand.

you may be able to do some cookies, but not much more than that. or mini pies or something.
