This is the pound cake recipe from Le Cordon Bleu

8oz unsalted butter
8oz granulated sugar
8oz eggs
1tsp vanilla extract
8oz cake flour, sifted

In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar on medium speed for 15-20 minutes

Add in eggs on at a time, scraping down sides after each addition

Add in flour

Bake in a loaf pan that has been sprayed, lined with parchment paper, and sprayed again at 325F for 45-60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

Back in the middle ages, when pound cake was invented, people were looking for a recipe to make cake very moist. What they came up with was pound cake. They called it pound cake, b/c it had a pound of sugar, a pound a flour, a pound of butter, a pound of eggs. Basically, a pound of everything you put into a cake. Well, good luck finding a recipe. Mine is old school, really, really, really old school.
