We make a great couscous salad with cranberries and curry that doesn't need to be cold and tastes great served hot or cold. I got the recipe from Food Network it's called Curried Couscous Salad with Dried Cranberries. I believe the chefs name is David Leiberman. If you go to www.foodnetwork.com and type in the name of the food it will give you the recipe.

put some hot dogs in a thermos with some onions...very satisfying!!!!

Most nice things are better kept cool,if you have an icebag that would help, lots of lvely cold pasta salads are great!Cesar salad is delicious! Have fun!

Smores are always delicious. And I always bring a lot of fresh fruit and potatoes.

dips can be tough since most contain dairy. try some mediterranian style. hummous, tabboule etc. seem to rely more on acid type dressings, which are better for no refridgeration. as far as salad goes, my mainstay is german potato. vinegar dressing, lots of crumbly bacon, and it tastes better room temp. or warmer.

canned chilli cook it right in the can on the grill. fun to cook also

How about fried chicken?

Chickpeas with onions. Add a little vinegar and olive oil and parsley.

Sliced cucumbers are also good with vingegar and olive oil.

Avocado and cherry tomatoes with Vinegar and olive oil,

pretty much anything in Vinegar and olive oil.

sandwhichs, pasta salads (like a lemon orzo salad with shrimp), onion dip, blue cheese dip, salsa..fresh crab salad with lime zest, roasted eggplant spread, coconut cake..theres just so many...

Cook some pasta - Penne is a good one to use. Stir in some pesto, and add some cherry tomato halves.

You could make a potatoe salad but instead of salad cream use plain yoghurt and mint.

A greek salad - cut up some mixed peppers, red onion, tomatoes, feta cheese and mix together with olive oil. And add some black olives

Homemade coleslaw - thinly sliced white cabbage and carrot mixed together with mayo or salad cream, and even add grated cheese if you want to.

bring lots of stuff that is just-add-water

like instant soups, ramen, stuff like that

since you will grill a lot ... better if you are going to bring along cucumber and tomato then dip it vinegar (add with brown sugar, pepper ,salt then ginger and onion) you could also grill an eggplant then peel it and slice it then add it with the vinegar sauce (add with brown sugar, pepper ,salt then ginger and onion)
or you could bring along corn (u could cook it or grill it then brush with butter) or could bring along a can of corn kernel and serve it with cucumber
