Stupid Question..Sorry!?

I'm a ditz when it comes to cooking- but how long is chicken good if its frozen in the freezer?? Thanks so much!

Answers:
With uncooked meats (including chicken) I would go with the person who said 3-5 months. More than that and you do lose texture and taste. (While frozen meats do not easily "go bad" the cell structure does slowly break down even in a freezer...)

With cooked meats 1-2 months maximum. While your problem isn't e-coli, it IS taste. All cooked and then frozen dishes begin to degenerate in taste after a month and especially after two, more so if spiced or flavored..........

Up to a year.

Frozen chicken can be good for up to six months, but make sure you get all the air out or it will cause it to freezer burn.

Not more then 3 -5 months

Raw chicken parts 9 months

Raw chicken giblets, ground chicken 3-4 months

Raw whole chicken 1year

Cooked chicken parts, not in broth or gravy 4 months

Cooked whole chicken 4 months

Cooked ground chicken 1-3 months

If it's sealed well about six months.

A few weeks ago, I cooked a batch of chicken that had an expiration date that was thirteen months before the date that I cooked it. So far, no one in my family has come down with e. coli.

until you take it out and cook it.

You're not suppose to freeze chicken really because it messes up the texture & when you cook it it wont taste good you'll have an ice taste no matter if you thaw it out so you buy it refrig & cook it. Chicken isnt the best thing to freeze
