What can I substitute for the wheatgerm and the honey? You mix it, bake at 350 for 30 minutes if you want to try it too.
2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup wheat germ
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup raisins (optional)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup honey
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Answers: Grape nuts might be a good substitue for the wheat germ and caro syrup can be used instead of honey. Source(s):
I am a personal chef I'd just omit the wheat germ and not worry about it. As for the honey....I'd probably use a quarter cup of sugar...or a couple tablespoons of brown sugar.....or divide it and do both. Good luck. :) increase the flour and oats in place of the wheat germ. there is not real substitute for the honey without totally changing the taste. you could try substituting 1/4 cup of corn syrup or 1/4 cup molases for the 1/2 cup honey. corn syrup and molases as both sweeter than honey so only use 1/2 the amount. If you want to add another interesting flavor, try substituting carob for the wheat germ You can't just omit the wheat germ because it's a 1/2 cup and that's a good amount needed to make ratios correct. I'd add another 1/4 cup of oats and a 1/4 cup flour for the wheat germ. And for the honey, make a simple syrup of equal parts sugar and water. Heat to a boil and remove from the heat. Let cool and use that for your honey, keeping it at the 1/2 cup for ratio purposes. You need it to be a liquid like honey for it to turn out right. I agree with Griffyn as to the wheat germ problem. You can also try maple syrup instead of honey. i dont think you have to have the wheat germ in there, the honey will only make it more plyable and sweeter try a 1/2 cup of white sugar to take the honey part and like i said i wouldnt put the wheat germ in there its just something to make you think the cookies are healthy....oh and i dont like wheat germ..anything with germ in it dont go down this shoot!
