I have a recipe that calls for juice of 1 lemon....?
and I don't have a juicer. If I go to the store and buy juice that has already been squeezed out of the lemon aproximately how much should I add to the recipe (I've never juiced a lemon before so I don't know how much juice comes out) :) Thanks 4 your help!
Answers: 2-3 Tbsp. of lemon juice is one lemon. (Betty Crocker) But if you have a lemon in the house, just roll it well on the counter, cut it in half, and fork it well. Put it through any sieve-like thing you have, even a tea strainer. you just sqeeze it, sqeeze it into your hands over the mixing bowl so that it catches all of the seeds and stuff A good way of juicing a lemon without a juicer is - cut in half and use a fork - push into lemon and turn squeezing at the same time with your hand if you buy lemon juice from the store, the package will say on it how much is equal to one lemon 3 tablespoons You definently do not need to buy a juicer. Like everyone said just squeeze it. To get the most of your lemon; roll the lemon (while pushing on it) before you cut it so that all the juices come out then cut and squeeze over a separate bowl so you are not cooking lemon seeds as well. When you've just got the juice add it to your recipe. Good Luck. It is about 3 table spoons. However, you can just pop the lemon in the microwave for about 20 seconds which will soften it and make it easier to get the most juice out of it, cut it in half and then squeeze booth half until the juice stops flowing. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze over a tea strainer to catch the pips.
Never buy the store stuff. The label will list lemon juice, water, preservatives ....
Buy yourself a Meyer Lemon tree. They fruit for about 9-10 months of the year. Lemons are so lovely - even put in a fruit bowl if you don't want to use them in cooking.
