What can I add to a tub of vanilla icing to make it slightly thinner?!

Question:

What can I add to a tub of vanilla icing to make it slightly thinner?

I am not sure just what to add, I only have one tub of icing and the cake is in the oven, so I don't want to ruin it.

Answers: Light cream, milk, half and half, something like that should work--as long as you aren't adding a lot, it won't really compromise the flavor. If you are adding a lot to it, you may want to go with a combination of water and confectioners' sugar and a tiny bit of vanilla extract. However, simply adding a little bit of cream should do the trick. a little bit of water with a little bit of powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Milk a tablespoon at a time...and whip it well
