The best cake in the world is "Tres Leches" or three milks cake. We had a party this weekend and I made two of them for it. I had to make a third yesterday because my wife and I didn't even get a sniff of one. I just finished a piece with coffee and it was a pure slice of heaven. Here is the recipe for anyone who wishes to try it. It takes a few steps but is an easy cake to make overall.

INGREDIENTS:
5 eggs, seperated into yolks and whites
1 Cup sugar, seperated
1/3 cup whole milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 Cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 can (14 oz.) sweetend condensed milk
1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk
1/4 Cup whipping cream

PREPERATION: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter and additional flour. Beat egg yolks with a 3/4 cup the sugar until light in color and doubled in volume. Stir in whole milk, vanilla, flour and baking powder. Using a mixer in a seperate bowl, beat egg whites into soft peaks. Slowly add the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and beat egg whites till firm, but not dry. Fold egg whites into flour mixture. Pour entire mixture into your prepared pan and bake for about 45 minutes. Cake should be golden brown and springy in the middle ( I usually insert a knife in the middle and know it is ready when the knife comes out clean).
Cool cake for 10 minutes, loosen edges with a knife and remove from pan and place on a wire rack to cool.
When cake is completely cool prick it all over with a skewer or two prong fork. Then mix together your evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk and whipping cream. Place the cake in a deep serving plate and pour your milk mixture over the cake and allow it to absorb.
At this point it is ready to eat, but I cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for a few hours and then ice it with whipped cream and put peaches on top. It makes a beautiful and wonderful tasting cake.

Trust me. There is not a better cake on this planet, or any other for that matter. Red velvet with whipped cream cheese frosting on top
