Is it OK to eat chicken that sat out in a car for 6 hours?!

Question:

Is it OK to eat chicken that sat out in a car for 6 hours?

I left my chicken wrapped in foil inside a paper bag for 6 hours inside my car. would it still be ok?

Answers: no toxins have already began to form from being in the temperature danger zone too long (tdz) no matter how much you heat the chicken you will not be able to kill the toxins. It may cause diarrhea, stomach cramping, fever, and other issues. A lot of what people call the 24 hour flu is actually food poisoning for virused take at least a week to get out of you system. serv safe food safety certification. Not unless it is very cold where you live. I don't think so Ummm..no, don't eat it. my husband will ask me this dumb stuff, too. So, is 3 dollars of chicken worth throwing up 8 hrs for???
OK, another way to put it: "I will give you 3 bucks if you throw up, have diarrhea and maybe die tonight!" If it was wrapped in foil and kept in fairly good condition, I think it is safe to eat. Just be sure to smell it to ensure that it is odorless; any kind of odor that is not characteristic of chicken might suggest bacterial presence. Thus, making the chicken unsafe to eat.

I'd suggest heating it first (preferably in the oven) to kill whatever harmless bacteria might be in the chicken. If your gut tells you it might be unsafe to eat, listen!! ummm, i don't think so!! there is probably all kinds of bacteria growing on it. sorry, next time put it in the fridge or in a cooler. No, not unless it's in the dead of winter and very cold like your fridge. Poultry is not a good thing to leave out for very long. Toss it. Since it's July, I would imagine that your car probably resembled the inside of an oven, and in that case, it would NOT be okay to eat the chicken. However, if you park your car in a refrigerator, it should be okay. God no! Salmonella baby!
