on the grill...thanks for sharing.

Answers: Medium is whats recommended. Slightly pink on the inside, cooked on the outside. The more you cook it the tougher it gets. If you grind your own you can get away with a rarer burger (as long as you sear it first before grinding it) medium rare or medium 160-165 degrees Medium well Haha, simple. Depending on the kind of meat you use for making burgers it could be anywhere from medium rare ( moderately pink on the inside) to well-done (brown all throughout). I prefer my burgers medium rare. It's tender, juicy, and absoloutely delicious! It should be cooked through, 3-4 minutes per side, depending upon thickness. I always have it medium. Scared of doing medium rare with ground beef, but that's how I like my steak. Never cook ground meat any less than medium well. You can still get it nice and juicy but make sure the middle is done!

On steaks and stuff bacteria are only on the cut ( outside) portion of the meat and have no way in. But, when meat is ground the germs and stuff get all mixed in so your meat has to reach a certain temp all the way through to kill everything. Medium is what I like but some people are afraid of that. I've been eating medium and medium rare hamburger all of my life and it hasn't hurt me.
