Is "angus beef" hamburger or steak?!

Question:

Is "angus beef" hamburger or steak?

I just had a "angus beef" sandwhich and thought it was hamburger-is this really steak? It was gross, and I ended up throwing it away, and eating two in a half candy bars instead-not good when you are trying to maintain your figure during the summer season!

Answers: "Angus Beef" refers to the type of breed of the cattle that the meat comes from......and it can be both, either steak or ground into hamburger.......sounds like you had an Angus beef steak sandwich.....and I'm with you, on this one, I don't particularly care for it myself, and I'm a meat eater......And I hear ya about the candy and chips during this season!!!! Enjoy the 4th!!!

I was trained at Le Cordon Bleu........ Its a type of beef can be made into anything it's the whole thing:

Aberdeen-Angus is the original name of the breed as developed in Scotland, and the term is still in use as such in the United Kingdom. In the United States they are usually referred to simply as Angus or Black Angus. Angus cattle are naturally polled and solid black, although white may appear on the udder. Black Angus are the most popular beef breed of cattle in the United States with 324,266 animals registered in 2005. I certainly wouldn't waste Angus beef in a bun!!! Its intended to be cooked in the oven, and served with gravy, vegatables, yorkshire puddings and horseradish sauce as a proper meal!! Angus beef is from angus cattle; so the same cuts of beef exist as with any other type of beef. There is angus tenderloin, chuck, etc., and angus ground beef. Angus is a name of a breed of cattle from Scotland.
So Angus beef could be anything from steak to mince
Was it not roast beef - if it look like a hamburger I would have thought it would have been minced up 'Angus Beef' and cooked like a hamburger Could be either. Angus is a particular breed of cow. So "Angus beef" could refer to any cut of meat from an Angus cow. It's both.In fact it's the whole beef.
Angus is the brand of cattle.
If it was so bad,it couldn't have been real angus beef.Angus is top of the line. Angus is the breed of cattle the meat came from.
It's much more expensive than plain old beef--and not really any difference in taste.
Save your money, and buy the plain old beef! Beef is beef.
The best kind of beef to get so you know what you are getting is to order it from a local farmer. He will take it to a butcher and you get the meat from one animal. You can order a half or quarter of a beef. It is a big chunk of money at once but then you have good beef for a while.
I know this is hard if you live in a city.
I know what you mean about eating the candy bars. BTDT OK, I hate to say this but gosh,,,,, Angus is the best of the best! And in Germany ( I spend a limited amount of time each year visiting my Daughter and Granddaughter) and if Angus is available that is all we purchase. While in Germany I have found that good quality beef is limited supply. Maybe you should have saved the meat and enjoyed you candy instead.

BEEF IS HAMBURGER AND STEAK! Angus is a species of cow/beef. It is not a particular cut of beef.
