Answers: Depending on where you are located there might be a variety of Asian markets that may stock the ingredients to make taiyaki and takoyaki. Many Chinese or Japanese or Korean markets stock things from all three countries so it does not hurt to look.

Generally every major city will have at least one such place. As far as the recipe, I find online recipes have a tendency to substitute ingredients and otherwise Americanize such dishes. If you are in a major city or in an area with a large Asian-American population you may want to seek out a bookstore specializing in Japanese or other Asian language books. More often than not, there is often a section of cookbooks which you can often find in English. However just be prepared for many of the measurements to be in the metric system format.

If you are out on the town, many Japanese restaurants do offer Takoyaki as an appetizer. It simply means finding a real Japanese place and not just a sushi bar. next to the teriyaki? Depends on where you live. In California there are a lot of places where you can get that kind of stuff. you should find yourself a korean store, or log onto google and enter "korean food/pastry suppliers in?your city?".....see what happens, try and look for korean grocery stores in your neighbourhood(phone book/yellow pages)...

good luck any oriental store that is well-stocked will have such items and if not go to your local japanese or korean restaurant or sushi place.
