Fast way to do grilled corn on the cob?!

Question:

Fast way to do grilled corn on the cob?

We're doing BBQ in a hurry, I don't have time to soak the corn in water for an hour. Can I just remove the husks and boil them first before putting them on the BBQ? If so, for how many minutes, and then how many minutes on the grill? And I wrap them in foil right? (never really done this) Do I put the butter on them in the foil or just butter them up after? Thanks! Whoever answers all the above questions will be the winner!

Answers: Yes you can definiely remove the husks and BBQ then. It will still take about 20 minutes total though. I generally will start to boil them, for just abou 5-10 (or REALLY cheat, and toss each cob in the microwave for 2 minutes) and then wrap them in foil. I grease each piece of foil and then roll them up and put them on the grill. Go for 5 minutes and then roll them, do that 4 times, for a total of 20 minutes and then they come out with a nice grill flavor. They take a while too cool off though, so take them off and give yourself a few minutes first. Then just add some butter, salt, or however you would normally serve it. Actually, you don't have to anything fancy...I just remove the husks, drizzle on a little olive oil and place them right on the grill. It takes about 15-20 minutes to cook this way. Quick and Easy Grilled Corn on the Cob

6 ears corn
6 tablespoons butter, softened
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.
Peel back corn husks and remove silk. Place 1 tablespoon butter, salt and pepper on each piece of corn. Close husks.
Wrap each ear of corn tightly in aluminum foil. Place on the prepared grill. Cook approximately 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until corn is tender. I made some yesterday, it was great

I shucked the corn, and got a sheet of foil big enough to roll it around the corn a few times to prevent from burning. I put a dollop of butter on the foil and rolled the corn around in it, sprinkled with salt and pepper and rolled it tight in the foil. I put it on with the chicken, and when ever I turned the chicken I rotated the corn. When the chicken was done so was the corn.... When we BBQ, we keep it as simple as possible with the corn. Put the corn right on the grill (leave it in the husk to retain moisture). When most of the husk has turned black, simply pull the corn off the grill, pull off the husk, and flavor it however you want (butter, salt, etc.).

No foil. No boil. No prep. No problem.

Enjoy! I heard on the radio that you are supposed to pull back the leaves, and then butter, salt and pepper and put on any spices that you want on there and then cover it back up and then put it on the grill that way.

Me, well I like to boil my corn about 15 minutes in sugar water and once out of the pot I put salt and pepper and butter on it. A good sweet corn can be eaten raw but cook it its better . throw them puppies on the grill without the husks cook till there good and warm slap em on a plate lay the butter on heavy and enjoy mmmmm..mm.
GOOD! You have several choices
#1 Keep the husks on the corn and soak in water for about half hour and then put them on the grill rotating them. Cook corn until the husks are no longer green.

#2 Strip the corn of husks and silk. Soak in water for half an hour. Cover the corn in salt/pepper/ and butter (keeps the corn moist). Then wrap the corn in tin foil and cook away rotating occasionally. Cook until you see the corn is brown on tips ( you can skip the presoak and boil till tender .This will speed up process.)

#3 Remove husks and silks from as many ears of corn. Cook in large amount boiling water just until tender. Drain, place on grill; brush generously with melted butter. turning often, until most of kernels are tipped with brown. Brushing melted butter and seasonings on corn while it grills keeps it tender.

Do not use corn that has been in the fridge over 48 hours. The corn loses it fresh flavor.

. Yes, you can remove the husks and boil them first, but that defeats the purpose. Just simply wrap them in foil, spiced up with or without butter; doesn't matter. Put them on the grill and let them go for 15 to 20 min. Make SUR!E to flip them periodically to make the cooking even. They will be just perfect. I use Tony C's spice!
