How do you prepare your filet mingon?!

Question:

How do you prepare your filet mingon?

preferably on the grill?

Answers: filet mignon is the finest and most tender beef. It is good grilled by itself or very quickly fried in a pan. you want to keep it moist. the meat is quite tender. since the taste is so good by itself i would not overwhelm it with sauces. salt freshly ground pepper are fine. at the end you can dust some paprika powder over it.

marinating is usually done with lesser cuts of meat to make it tender. filet mingon must be wrapped in bacon or salt pork and grilled otherwise it is just tenderloin of beef same cut of meat but gives you a vareity of preparations I salt both sides and then coat one side with coarse black pepper. I usually cook it on the stove top, but I am sure it would be fine on the grill. I usually make a sauce with mushrooms to go with it. It is so good. It is actually the only way I will eat steak. I marinade it overnight in beer and A-1 sauce.
(use your favorite beer) The alcohol cooks out
and you don't even taste the beer.

Barbecue it on the grill over mesquite charcoal.

Yummy melt in your mouth good!!!

Try it you'll like it. of course people do the usual with filet, but think about something different, yes still use the bacon wrap, but what about stuffing it with something, i.e. pate, raw oysters etc, use your imagination

good luck
Val
