Meatballs?!

Question:

Meatballs?

How do you make some good homemade meatballs?

Answers: * 1 lb. lean ground beef
* 1 egg
* 2 Tbsp. water
* 1/2 cup bread crumbs
* 1/4 cup minced onion
* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1/8 tsp. pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl combine egg, water, bread crumbs, onion, salt and pepper and combine. Add ground beef, broken into chunks, and mush with your hands to combine. Form into meatballs about 1" in diameter and place on a broiler pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until meatballs are no longer pink in center. Cool and freeze, or use in your favorite meatball recipe.

P.S. I found an easy way to make meatballs is by using meat "squares." You just roll out the meat and then cut the meat into squares. It saves time instead of taking the time to make balls. Have fun! Maria's Italian Meatballs

INGREDIENTS:

* 1 lb lean ground beef
* 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
* 1/3 cup water (more or less)
* 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1 medium onion
* garlic
* salt
* pepper

PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients together. Don't add all of the water at one time. Mixture should be moist but not so that the meatballs fall apart.

Shape meatballs to desired size and place on a broiler pan (I wet my hands before shaping each meatball and it helps make a nice meatball.) Broil until outside is slightly brown on one side and then turn and broil the other side.

When finished, add to spaghetti sauce and simmer at least 20 minutes.

Gently combine all ingredients except egg, tomato sauce and crumbs. Blend egg with a fork in a seperate bowl and add to mix along with tomato sauce. Mix all ingredients thouroughly.. it should be wet and sticky at this point. Add dry crumbs untill the mix forms a moist but not sticky ball. Portion with a scale or an ice cream scoop. Fry meatballs in shallow skillet about 1/3 deep in oil.

Serving options are abundant, so I will leave that part to you.. but thats the basic recipe. Obviously you may substitute any flavors you prefer. For meatballs I would use the same recipe as I do for my hamburgers but form them into meatballs and brown on all sides. When browned remove to a second saucepan and continue the sauce in the pan with the drippings. http://web.foodnetwork.com/food/web/sear...
