please tell me how to make egg custard and what temp and how long thanks
Answers: I just made two pies yesterday. Butter and flour your pie dishes. Then,combine a half cup of Bisquick,4 eggs,a half stick of butter, two-thirds cup of sugar,1 tablespoon of vanilla, and 2 cups of milk. Blend all of these ingredients in a mixer for 5 minutes for each pie. Pour into your prepared pie pans. Sprinkle with lots of nutmeg. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. They taste great and they are so easy to make. Yummy!!! Enjoy!!! This is a quick and simple way to make it

In blender, put: 1 tbsp. flour or cornstarch 1/2 stick butter 5 eggs 1 1/2 to 2 c. milk (depending on shell size)
Blend all together for 3 minutes. Prick pie shell with fork and bake for a few minutes before adding custard, so bottom will be done. Bake for 45 minutes or until done at 350 degrees. 1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons fine sugar
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 pint creamy milk
2 drops vanilla essence (the real thing)
Beat together the egg-yolk and cornstarch in a small bowl.
Bring the milk slowly to the boil in a non-stick pan.
Pour on to the egg mixture, stirring steadily.
Mix well.
Pour the custard back into the pan and stir over a gentle heat until the mixture thickens till it will coat the back of a spoon.
Add the vanilla essence.
NOTE: For an extra-rich custard, stir in 2 tablespoons heavy cream with the vanilla. making egg custard with cornstarch is the cheats way. For a good custard use a double boiler and heat 2 cups of milk until hot but not boiling, mix in a second bowl 4 egg yollks and 1\2 cup of sugar then pour the hot milk over in a steady stream mixing constantly. Return the mixture to the double boiler and heat mixing constantly until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
