I need a real Mexican cookbook?!

Question:

I need a real Mexican cookbook?

I want a Mexican cookobook that does not tell me get a can of enchilada sauce... I want to know how to make the sauce from scratch. I want it to be truly authentic. I was hoping to find one that is like those fundraiser cookbooks for churches or communities. I don't want chef recipes. I want homecooking recipes. Anyone have any titles to share?

Answers: There is absolutely no one that has done it better than Diana Kennedy. The essential cuisines of Mexico is the best one to introduce you to Mexican cooking. I have lived in Mexico for years and she is the only foreigner who has got it right. She does everything from scratch and it is authentic Mexican not modified to American tastes. Take a look at some of her online recipes, enter Diana Kennedy recipes in your browser search window and prepare for authentic in every sense of the word. I think this will help

Rick Bayless I′m mexican, I can give you the best enchilada sauce and more, many times books are not completes or there aren′t, writte me and I′ll send you all detail by detail. Go to www.amazon.com...they have some Mexican cookbooks that look really great. Have fun! if you really want to know you need to go and live with someones abuela (grandma) and have her teach you all her tricks. she must be 65+ and have moved out here from Mexico about 10 or less years ago. that is only the real way to learn how to cook Mexican food. you can read books and get recipes but unless you live or visit with real Mexicans for a while, not this third generation group, you will never know.
