How do you get a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich to taste like the ones from the supermarket?
Answers: As I worked in one of these places during the holidays, I can answer this -
First off you need to drop the bread on a dirty floor, pick it up and blow on it to remove any pubes which may have become attached. Use ultra high fat butter on the bread. Add extra salt.
Scrape together plenty of tuna and sweetcorn with a massive dollop of ultra high fat mayo. Spit in it. Mix well so any stringy bits are not noticeable and finish off by dropping on the floor again. Leave to ferment for a number of days in a fridge with the temp set too high. Et voila - Supermarket sandwich. MSG Tuna, Sweetcorn, Salt and some hellmans mayonnaise!!! Oh and some lettuce :) U need to buy malted bread too xx Pump it full of chemicals, make it and eat it 3 days later after throwing an extra £3 down the drain from the cost of making it. use stuff past its sell by date Add loads of salt and some sugar - yes, really.
So what you taste in the supermarket is not good. Keep to your own homemade recipe and skip the salt, sugar and yucky additives. buy it from the supermarket duh! Try putting some herbs in! leave it in your fridge for two days then take it out and put it in a box and bring it closer to room temporature, should just about be right. Thats because its not a proper sandwich from the shops! Your's is the real thing! lol Buckets of mayo. Err buy it from a supermarket maybe!!!!!!!!!!!! by mucking it up. use GOOD TUNA< not the crap 3 cans for a dollar, you gotta spend the cash on the whole fillet, over a buck a can,,, special ingredient in the mayonnaise bet you cant guess what it is? Why? That's just full of crap to make you want to buy it ... a tip: add a pinch of paprika powder, it really sets of the flavours. And some finely chopped onion.
Hellman's is already very salty, you might want to reconsider adding salt. use additives & artificial flavourings Try this:
1/2 can tuna, drained, and flaked
1 spring onion, finely, chopped
2 tbsp canned corn, drained
2 tbsp creme fraiche
salt, to taste
ground pepper, to taste
2 slices granary bread
The creme fraiche will make it taste good. Then you can add more fat like butter or oil if you want. Mush the tuna to pulp + mayonaise & sweetcorn.
Butter the 2 slices of bread with something other than butter.
Put in plastic wrapper. Refridgerate.
Drive it halfway across Britian.
Stop at a motorway cafe on the way for, a sleep then, an over priced breakfast.
Put in another fridge for twelve hours.
Serve. Well just use brown bread as it has more goodness and flavor, put some mayo in the tuna and sweetcorn and add a bit of salad :D Add some malt vinegar to the tuna (about a tablespoon per can), before you flake it and add the mayo. It really brings out the flavour of the fish. add flavourings, flavouring enhancers, any other rubbish going...........
you are better making your own!
Marks and spencers do a good tuna and sweetcorn sandwich, also O,Brians-but after reading the answers here,it confirms that it is rubbish in shop sandwiches. By using the secret ingredients.
Finely chopped onion and lime juice instead of vinegar.
Now you know.
