I want to take the ingredients to my friend's house and make some awesome reubens.

Answers:

Jewish rye bread (I prefer the seeded kind)
Bottle of thousand island dressing (or you could make your own if you're feeling adventurous and have time)
Corned beef (*shaved as thinly as possible*)
Sharp swiss cheese, cut into regular thickness
Can of sauerkraut
Soft butter

Drain your sauerkraut in a colanderas well as you can, using a spoon to press the extra liquid out of it.

Spread each slice of bread on one side with about 1 tablespoon of dressing (one tablespoon on each slice, that is) and top with as much corned beef as you want. Put a few tablespoons of sauerkraut on top of that, then add a slice of cheese and top with the second bread slice. Butter both pieces of bread on the outside.

Heat your frying pan (or griddle) to medium heat and cook on one side until golden, then flip and cook on the other side until done.

If you want them really cheesy/gooey/yum, weight the sandwiches down with something while cooking. (A dinner plate with a large can on top of it is what I use.)

Also, I microwave my corned beef first. Otherwise, the outside of the sandwich is done and the cheese is melted, but the beef is still cool in the middle because it's just come out of the fridge.
