Cooking fat and crisping?!

Question:

Cooking fat and crisping?

When I am trying to save calories and fat, I usually choose fat free butters or mayos because I don't mind the taste...
but what about for cooking for crispiness... like with pizza bites/breaded cheese sticks type products? I KNOW when I add some oil, butter, or shortening to those they become crispy... but is that possible with any of those light alternatives?

Answers:

Olive Oil,
Healthy to fry in . You can use a teaspoon full in skillet with lid on, put in your food cook on med and tun over when brown on one side and the lid help steam it done and it will be brown on both sides.
I been using it for years. all that old diet stuff is unhealthy.
The olive oil has a strong taste, but after awhile you aquare the taste .And you cant stand butter and other shortenings.
