Chilli Gobhi
Gobhi, cut into small flowerets 500 g
Egg, slightly beaten 1
Cornflour 1/2 cup
Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
Oil for deep frying
Onions, chopped coarsely 2 cups
Green chillies, thickly sliced 2 tbsp or to taste ( remove the seeds if too hot)
Soya Sauce 1 tbsp (adjust according to strength)
Vinegar 2 tbsp
Some greens for garnish
Method
1. Mix together the gobhi, egg, cornflour, garlic and ginger paste, and enough water so that the gobhi is ‘coated’ with the batter. Leave thus about half an hour.
2. Heat the oil and deep fry gobhi over high heat till a light brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper till required.
3. Heat 2 tbsp of the oil in a wok, and stir fry the onions in it over high heat till they look wet.
4. Add the green chillies and stir a few times, add the remaindered salt, soya sauce, vinegar, and the gobhi.
5. Mix well, and serve garnished with some greens.
